Instead you gave me broken promises
And empty words.
All I ever asked for was an apology
Instead you gave me half-assed explanations
And emotional manipulation.
All I ever wanted to do was love you
Instead you gave me feelings of inadequacy
And convenience.
You gave me all of these things and
In return I've decided to give you
My absence.
Though something tells me this is a gift that
I'll enjoy way more than you.
