is like looking at a jigsaw puzzle
each piece representing memories
each jagged edge managing to come together and
complete the story.
sometimes I wish I could take pieces out
create a new picture.
take the good memories ignore the bad.
recreate the melancholic coalescence
our relationship turned out to be.
But no story reaches its conclusion
without ups
and downs
along the way.
some will scorch your tongue
others taste as sweet as honey.
Letting Go is realizing there will never
be a pretty picture
to symbolize the story
of you and me.
only fleeting moments like
jigsaw
pieces
sprinkled throughout
ever so sparingly.
